The Amendments …

In reading the Amendments to the Constitution of the United States there are a few glaring things that we, as a citizenry seemed to have forgotten … Lets looks at them.

Amendment 1: Freedom of Religion, Speech and the Press; Rights of Assembly and Petition. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF. The capitalized line is the one that our courts seem to have forgotten. While the government cannot promote any one religion, nor can they prevent anyone from worshipping in the religion of their choice. The ACLU recently filed a lawsuit to remove a cross, erected for WW I veterans on government land in California. I ask you, who is being hurt by that cross and what religion, if any, is being promoted by the government? The government did not erect that cross and thus are NOT promoting any religion, The cross, in the instances of cemeteries and memorials, has become a sign of service and respect, not of any particular religion. If the ACLU wins this suit, crosses in military cemeteries, including Arlington National Cemetery, will be at risk

Amendment 2: Right To Bear Arms. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. Now, instead of the Federal Government disregarding this amendment, the states and cities have taken it upon themselves to INFRINGE UPON THE RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE. Washington DC, Chicago IL, Cicero, IL, have all taken it upon themselves to ban the people’s right to keep and bear arms. According to this Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, my right to bear arms is guaranteed. Luckily, the Supreme Court of this great Nation has upheld the peoples right. There is, however, another challenge going on right no. We shall see if we, as a nation, lose another one of our rights.

I am sure you, as I, have seen our Rights being eroded by an out of control government. I took it upon myself to re-read the Constitution and Its Amendments looking for any sign, any hint, any idea, that would lead one to believe the government has any right to insist I have health insurance.

I have yet to find any hint, any idea, any sign, that says I can sit on my ass and have a right to have the government take care of me, with other people’s money.

I cannot find where our founding fathers thought it was a good idea for the government to take over private business (i.e., banking, auto)

MY Constitution says I only have the right to LIFE, LIBERTY and MY PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. It does not say that my life has to be insured by the government. It doesn’t say that my liberty has to be taken from me, “for my own good,” by ignoring the Amendments. It doesn’t say that my happiness should be gained on the backs of other people.

Oh, and my Constitution is written in ENGLISH.

They call me a REDNECK …. but

My neck is red, from the sun, as I work the fields to grow your food.

My neck is red, with rage as I see my freedoms being trampled

My neck is red, as I blush with pride for this country that I love

My neck is red from carrying my wounded brothers off the battlefield as I fight for your right to call me names

My neck is red from embarassment as my president apologizes for his country

My neck is red from the anger that I feel because my kids and grandkids futures are being auctioned off.

My neck is red as I watch socialism replace capitolism

My neck is red as I protest rising taxes, printing money, uncontrolled spending.

You may thing that calling me a REDNECK is an insult, when all I can say is "THANK YOU"

What I believe ….
I believe in God.
I believe in family.
I believe in my country.
I believe that the military of the United States of America is the finest in the world
I believe in the office of President of the United States
I believe our people are arrogant, and have a right to be.
I believe that we, the military and the people of the United States have saved almost every country in the world at some point.
I believe that if not for the United States, the all of Europe would be speaking German.
I believe the people of the United States have no limit on how much they will give to help others everywhere in the world.
I believe that when there is a disaster anywhere, it is the United States that is first to respond. And yet, when we had disasters here (i.e. Katrina, 9-11, Hugo, etc.) no one came to our aid.
I believe the Supreme Court was designed to uphold and interpret the Constitution of the United States, not re-write it.
I believe that we elect our Congressional representatives to represent us, not themselves.
I believe that more gets accomplished when we work together.
I believe the wrong person was elected President.
I believe our Commander and Chief should be proud of our country, not apologize for it.
I believe that the First Lady of our country should have been proud of it long before her husband was running for President.
I believe that wearing a flag pin on your lapel does indeed promote patriotism.
I believe our veterans should be treated better, at the very least, not called “potential terrorists.”
I believe that moms have an uncanny instinct when it comes to their children.
And …..
I believe I’ll have another beer
